That's how she does it! Feminism in a podcast
Editor-in-chief Marieke 't Hart (left) and the writer Sabine Leenhouts present the Vrouw editorial team's podcast together.
In early November, Sybilla Claus was a guest of the feminist team at Vrouw (Woman) at De Telegraaf. Feminism is neither left nor right; it cuts across every party and every newsroom — fortunately. The Vrouw editorial team has its own pages in the paper, its own glossy magazine and its own podcast. This episode covers feminism, the contemporary emphasis on appearance for women, and the right to be yourself. A nice title, too: 'That's how she does it.'
This is how the team puts it: 'Even though feminism arrived decades ago, the writer Sybilla Claus believes it seems to be losing more and more of its power. "Gender equality in the Netherlands is stalling," Claus observes in a new episode of our podcast That's how she does it. With Marieke 't Hart and Sabine Leenhouts, she also discusses the rise of the tradwife and explains why the prominent place of social media in society is particularly bad news for women.
Men can be feminists too
Listen also to the subsequent audio contribution by the philosopher and writer Frank Meester: yes, men can be feminists too. Meester is the author of, among other things, Feminism for Men and Other Beings (2023). From 7:30 onwards the conversation is about feminism. From 18:50 it is about Gender Rebels.
